Unter Berufung auf eine dem Verhandlungsteam von Teheran nahestehende Quelle, Tasnim aus dem Iran Nachricht Die Agentur berichtete am Dienstag, dass Iran darauf bestehe, dass 24 Milliarden US-Dollar an eingefrorenen iranischen Geldern in einem möglichen Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) mit den Vereinigten Staaten (USA) freigegeben werden müssten.
Dem Bericht zufolge möchte Iran, dass die Hälfte dieses Betrags bis zum Beginn der Bekanntgabe der Absichtserklärung verfügbar gemacht wird.
Die Agentur stellte außerdem fest, dass Irans oberster Verhandlungsführer, Mohammad Baqr Qalibaf, nach Katar gereist sei, um eine Einigung über einen Mechanismus zur Umsetzung dieser Forderung zu erzielen.
